Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her professional title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be associated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. Her first EP, Pho on October 21 2016, was released by Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in notoriety. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released in May of 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks to the Internet in 2012, when she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued uploading her music on the internet, including her self-released single Bound. On July 21st, 2015. Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes the track Sweat It Out. J.
